At Haldu Tola, we strive to live in balance with the natural world. Powered by an expansive solar farm, the house generates abundant renewable energy, complemented by advanced battery storage. Our water conservation efforts are equally meticulous: rainwater harvesting, subterranean aquifers, and a state-of-the-art reverse osmosis system ensure that every drop is responsibly sourced and purified, even for drinking. Sparkling water is crafted in-house to minimise plastic waste, while our innovative pool filtration system reduces chlorine usage, ensuring an environmentally friendly experience.
Less than three percent of the property is developed, with the remainder preserved as grasslands, woodland, and thriving kitchen gardens. This approach invites local wildlife to wander freely, making the lodge a haven for deer, gaur, and even the elusive tiger. Guests can savour seasonal produce from our chemical-free gardens, which highlight our dedication to sustainable living.
What makes Haldu Tola truly exceptional is its tribute to the Five Elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Ether—woven seamlessly into its design and decor.
Representing grounding, stability, and life itself, the element of Earth comes alive through the villa’s natural materials. Intricately carved wooden doors, sturdy pillars, and terracotta-inspired sculptures reflect a deep connection to the land. The walls are adorned with Gond paintings that depict flora, fauna, and tribal life, echoing the essence of Earth and its bounty.
Water symbolises purity, flow, and renewal, and is celebrated through the villa’s serene courtyard and glistening heated pool. The gentle sounds of flowing water feature throughout the property, encouraging calmness and reflection. Roof water is harvested and filtered to sustain life within the villa, mirroring nature’s cyclical rhythms.
Fire represents energy, passion, and transformation. In the villa, this element manifests in the warmth of the living spaces, the glow of handcrafted lamps, and the crackling of an evening bonfire. The art pieces scattered across the property incorporate vibrant hues of red and orange, symbolising fire’s life-giving force.
The element of Wind conveys freedom, movement, and breath. The villa’s design embraces open spaces and high ceilings that allow natural airflow to sweep through, creating a sense of lightness and peace. Breezy courtyards and verandas invite you to bask in the cool winds of Pench, while tall windows frame sweeping views of the wilderness.
